Leisure Village Computer Club

Maybe, as active seniors, we were born fifty years too early, but we are not letting modern technology pass us by.   The Computer Center is active almost every day of the week helping residents learn useful techniques on the computer; from which basic buttons to push, to e-mail, to "surfing the net", to watching investments, to keeping records both personal and financial.

Leisure Village residents who have come forward to give it a try are excited about what they have learned at the Computer Club.   They know their children and grandchildren use computers every day, mostly to communicate with friends and relatives.  When grandma and grandpa are also "on-line", they'll be hearing from their young ones this way all the time. (They'll also be letting the young folks know that they are not dinosaurs.)   The excitement of making contact so easily with friends everywhere through using e-mail is enough reason to own and use a computer.

Using e-mail is enough justification by itself for computer use, but actually, there's much more!   Genealogy, graphics, tracking financial information on the Internet, games, and reading news from other parts of the world; they all help us to appreciate the twenty-first century.  The operating and teaching staff of the Computer Club are all Leisure Village residents themselves, experienced in this technology and eager to help other residents learn the computer's powers and pleasures, as well as deal more capably with its frustrations.
