Leisure Village

Foreign Policy Association

The purpose of the Leisure Village Foreign Policy Association is to provide a discussion group which stimulates thinking and informed, focused discussions of both general and specific United States foreign policy issues.

Each year, members of the group buy annual editions of the "Great Decisions", a book prepared by the 80-year-old Foreign Policy Association in New York City.  Each issue of the book provides background information on eight different topics, together with suggested additonal reading.

The Leisure Village Association is divided into two discussion groups:  Group 1 meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 10 AM in the LV Rec. Center Sun Room.  Group 2 meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 1:30 PM in the Sun Room.  Meetings on the eight topics in the Great Decisions book are held from February through June.  Other meetings are held on an ad hoc basis throughout the year.

More information about the Foreign Policy Association may be obtained by contacting David Redding, at (805) 484-1496.  Notices of upcoming meetings are shown on local Channel 25, and on bulletin boards in the Recreation Center.
