Music Appreciation in Leisure Village

The Music Appreciation group organizes and offers informational lectures and recorded musical presentations to Leisure Village residents who love, or who just appreciate, music which has achieved classical status.  Such music will include that which is usually called "classical", but might very well also include music of a more popular nature which has been embraced by this country, and now is so much a part of our lives that it must be given classical status.

At a typical two-hour session, which is offered every other Friday at 10 AM in the Multi-Purpose Room, the instructor will play selections from the world's greatest composers, greatest orchestras, most successful or popular musical groups, and greatest individual performers.  Both before and after the performances, the instructor will discuss, with audience participation, key topics about these performances.  Instructors making these presentations may be guests from outside the Village, or knowledgeable Village residents.
