LEISURE VILLAGE PLAYER'S GUILD
The purpose of the LV Player's Guild is to provide entertainment both to Player's Guild members and to the larger Leisure Village community, in song, dance, and drama.
Players Guild members are encouraged to become actively involved in our monthly workshops for our annual productions. Participation in workshops gives participants encouragement and the opportunity to exhibit their talents in our productions.
Most shows are comedies previously performed on Broadway in New York. Village volunteers with experience in show business and the movie industry construct all sets and manage on-stage lighting.
The Player's Guild meets every third Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM in the AR. After a short meeting, Guild members entertain the audience with skits, dancing, singing, or stand-up comedy. To participate in the Guild, one does not need performing skills or an entertainment background - just an interest in directing, acting, or helping back stage would be enough. Following the entertainment, refreshments are served.
The Player's Guild is always looking for new members. In March or April of each year we hold a combined meeting and show which is free to Player's Guild members (who pay $3.00 annually for membership), to which non-members are invited (at $2.00 each) to see the show, brought in from outside.
Our December meeting is a catered holiday party, with dancing to a live band.
