Single active seniors who are thinking they would like to find and join an active, welcoming community should give serious consideration to the attractive social environment of Leisure Village. Following are excerpts from the activity writeup for July 2004 for the group in Leisure Village known as the Single Active Seniors:
"Summer will get a great head start with News and Views on July 6th at 7 PM in the Multi-purpose Room (MPR). The following week, on July 13th, we will be treated to an unusual talk entitled "Who Says Coroners Don't Have Fun?" Our speaker will be Margo Martin, Assistant Coroner of Ventura County. Those who have heard her speak say she has a terrific sense of humor!
"On July 20th, in the Annex, our movie is (the very recent) "Calendar Girls" with Helen Mirren. On July 27th, Game Night will be held, and poker and mahjongg players players are invited to join the regular Manipulation players.
"It's time for picnicking! The Single Active Seniors (SAS) annual picnic will be held August 10th. Tickets are $8.00 for members and $10.00 for guests. Please call (anonymous) for reservations. The picnic will be followed immediately by the award-winning film "Somethings Gotta Give", starring Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton."
