Leisure Village Women's Club

The Leisure Village Women's Club was established in 1974. The purposes of the club are: (1) to be a social and charitable women's organization, (2) to develop and maintain a spirit of goodwill among the women of Leisure Village, and (3) to contribute to approved federal and state charities both in Camarillo and generally in Ventura County, as well as to worthwhile projects within Leisure Village itself.

Membership is limited to residents of Leisure Village.  Our club provides associate memberships to male residents also, but without voting privileges.   General meetings, which include entertaining programs, are held on the 1st Thursday of each month (except July) in the Assembly Room at 1:30 PM.  Refreshments and a social hour follow the program.

The club's Executive Board consists of seven (7) elected officers whose term of office is two(2) years, while total membership at present consists of 287 women and 17 men.

We are quite busy in fund-raising activities, with the Workshop being primary.  Women's Workshop members, consisting of 30 to 35 ladies who meet in the Multi-purpose Room from 9:00 to 11:00 AM every Tuesday, create hand-made items all year long. Their major events, i.e., when their handiworks are sold, are the Spring Fling in March and the Bazaar in October.  Items are also sold every Tuesday during the Workshops.
