The Leisure Village Women's Golf Association was established in 1973. LVWGA members feel very privileged. We live in this paradise, and we get to play a great par three golf course with no greens fees in the enjoyable company of other active retired women. On a typical golf day we will walk 18 holes in the morning, play bridge in the afternoon, and enjoy socializing with members of the Leisure Village Men's Golf Club.
Come visit our secure, gate-guarded Village. Check out its 90-plus clubs and activities, its extensive offering of arts, crafts, sports, and intellectual pursuits in which everyone is welcome to participate, and enjoy our welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. Camarillo's Leisure Village is senior living at its finest in the most temperate climate in California. Our active community welcomes new residents, and offers the best facilities found anywhere.

The LVWGA organizes many social activities for its members, as well as frequent golf outings and tournaments. We also establish and maintain golf handicaps for all active members. Dues are currently $8.00 annually. Social activities include two annual "Tee Timers Tournaments and Luncheons" (one hosted by the men's golf club (LVMGA) on a Tuesday in April, and the other hosted by the LVWGA on a Wednesday in August), and members of either club who choose not to play that day are still welcome at the luncheon. On a Sunday in January we have a "Chili Bowl Tournament and Luncheon", hosted in alternate years by each of the golf clubs. In December we hold a "Holiday/Dinner Dance" in which both golf clubs and the Billiards Club participate. On a Wednesday in June, after morning golf, we have an "Appreciation Luncheon". On another day in June, at our "Installation Luncheon", we honor the winners of our annual tournaments and install our new Board of Directors for the budget year of July 1st to June 30th.

Our weekly golf tournaments are held starting at 8:00 AM each Wednesday morning, April 1st thru October 31st, and at 8:30 AM from November 1st through March 31st. During the year we also host four major tournaments, as well as our club championship in April, the President's Cup in October, and two "eclectic" tournaments, one each in March and August. The LVWGA and LVMGA alternate in hosting the monthly "19th hole party", starting at 4:00 PM on the last Sunday in each month. We award the tournament winners for the day's play and provide entertainment, snacks, and set-ups. New members in attendance are welcomed. Most LVWGA/LVMGA social events are held in the LV Rec. Center auditorium (the Assembly Room).
Once a month, on each third Thursday, we schedule outings at regulation-size golf courses in the area. Information about these upcoming outings is posted on the bulletin board outside the women's golf shack. On the board we also post information about upcoming tournaments, tournament winners, holes-in-one, elected officers, tee times for the week, sign-in sheets, current handicaps, and other information. Typically, once each year we jointly schedule a tournament with the men's golf club at a regulation-size golf course, after which we'll have a joint luncheon and award of prizes. This is always a fun event.
LVWGA meetings are as follows: Board meetings on the second Wednesday of each month from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the Garden Room; general membership meetings on the same day, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM in the Assembly Room. At our meetings we inform the membership about rule changes, about members who may be ill, and about current club events; we also provide occasional speakers, identify weekly golf winners, and welcome new members.

Our Golf Bridge Group meets on the first, third, fourth, and fifth Wednesday of each month, following golf, at 1:00 PM from April 1st thru October 31st, and at 1:30 PM from November 1st thru March 31st, in the Garden Room. In case rain washes out our golf, we always meet for bridge at 1:00 PM. No Bridge Group play is scheduled on General Meeting days, or when Tee Timers tournaments are held on Wednesday.
